We can proudly state that our sheep’s cheese Gran Reserva 10 Months has reached the pinnacle of excellence by receiving the Gran Cincho de Oro at the Cincho Awards 2024, one of the most prestigious competitions in the sector. This award, reserved for only three cheeses worldwide, establishes this variety as an absolute benchmark for its aromatic complexity and mature flavor, the result of a meticulous aging process.
A historic edition for the Peñaranda cheesery
As if that were not enough, our joy was not limited to the top prize. The cheesery also won two Gold Cinchos:
- For the Winter Aged 2 Years, distinguished for its robust structure and aromatic profile, reflecting its 24 months of patient maturation.
- For the Mixed-Milk Semi-Cured, recognized for its authentic flavor and balanced texture.
With these three awards, the Peñaranda firm consolidates its name among the greats of the world’s cheesemaking industry.
An international benchmark competition
The Cincho Awards 2024, organized by the Junta de Castilla y León, brought together 1,221 samples from 334 companies from 16 countries. The awards ceremony took place at the Royal Monastery of San Zoilo in Carrión de los Condes (Palencia), with the participation of more than 60 professional tasters from ten countries.
